Adding a Custom Domain Name to Multifactor
By default, Multifactor resources are provisioned with a yourcompany.multifactor.net domain name. However, you can always use a custom domain name (e.g., yourcompany.com or multifactor.yourcompany.com) by verifying that you own the domain name.
Adding a Domain Name
To add a domain name, click "New" and then "Domain" in the top right corner of the dashboard, or visit https://app.multifactor.com/domains/new. Then, type the domain name you wish to add and click "Add."
Viewing Your Domain Names
To view your domain names, click "Domains" under "Management" in the sidebar of the dashboard, or visit https://app.multifactor.com/domains.
Verifying a Domain Name
To verify a domain, click on the domain you want to view, then add the necessary DNS records to verify your ownership. You'll typically need to add a TXT record containing your Multifactor organization ID to _multifactor-org.yourcompany.com. We'll periodically monitor your domain for DNS changes and automatically mark it as verified when the necessary records are added. Alternatively, you can trigger an immediate rescan by clicking "rescan now."
Note: Domains that have been added but not verified will be deleted after 24 to 48 hours. If this happens, you'll need to add the domain again.
Using Subdomains with Multifactor
If you verify ownership of a domain name (e.g., yourcompany.com), you can always also use any subdomains (e.g., multifactor.yourcompany.com) with Multifactor products.
Congratulations! You have successfully added a custom domain name to your Multifactor resources. Please keep your newly-added DNS records in place to demonstrate ongoing ownership and prevent service interruptions.
