Account history and restoring previous versions

See how a credential changed over time and restore an earlier version.

Multifactor keeps a history of changes to your credentials, so you can see what changed and roll back if something was edited by mistake.

View an account's history

  1. Open an account.

  2. Switch to the History tab.

You'll see a timeline of changes — each entry shows when the change happened and who made it.

Restore a previous version

  1. In History, find the version you want.

  2. Open it to view the value at that point in time.

  3. Choose Restore to bring it back as the current version.

Restoring doesn't erase anything — it adds the old value back as a new, current version, so your full history stays intact.

Tip: History is great for recovering a password you changed too hastily, or confirming when a credential was last updated.

Account activity vs. credential history

This history is per-credential. For a record of every action on your whole account — sign-ins, devices, and locations — see Reviewing account activity.
